Have Fun on the Fairgrounds
It’s that time again: The Tri County Fair is coming to Petersburg for its 106th year. It’s no surprise this weeklong tradition is one of the longest-running county fairs in West Virginia—it’s got everything you need for a summer day filled with family-friendly fun. From July 25 to August 1, the fairgrounds in Petersburg will come alive with a picture-perfect blend of old-time Appalachian traditions and modern thrills.
Wander through the exhibit buildings, and your mouth will open in awe at the homemade artwork, homegrown produce, and homemade foods vying for a top ribbon—just try not to catch any flies. You'll have a similarly difficult time not cooing at the animals raised by the hardworking members of 4-H and FFA.

The Tri-County Fair has so much to look forward to! In case you're having trouble narrowing it down, here are a couple of the highlights.
Performing on Tuesday, July 28, this year's musical headliner is John Foster, an up-and-coming country artist from Louisiana. He's known for his blending of nostalgic country sound with a fresh, youthful energy. You don’t have to take our word for it—he was a runner-up on season 23 of American Idol, and he's since featured on the same lineups as artists like Carrie Underwood and Hank Williams Jr.
You'll have a couple of days to get your voice back after singing along to John Foster before another fan-favorite: the Renegade Monster Trucks Show on Friday, July 31. Be ready to cheer until your voice goes hoarse again, because the energy stays high, and it's infectious.
There’s no better way to feel like a kid again than to get outside in Grant County this summer. We’ll see you on the fairgrounds. And don’t worry—we’ll save you some funnel cake.
